Crusaders Win 4 Straight with Victory Over Trinity

Front Royal, VA – Christendom Crusader Women's Basketball defeated the Trinity University Tigers 73-46 on January 24, in their first home game of the spring semester.

At the start of the game, the Crusaders immediately brought tough competition for the Tigers. Christendom capitalized on defensive and offensive rebounds providing many scoring opportunities. With an impressive number of rebounds from Miranda Keller (Sophomore/Harrisburg, PA), the second quarter brought continued domination from the Crusaders. They continued to play aggressively on defense, holding Trinity to 11 points in both the first and second quarters. The second quarter came to a close with the Crusaders leading the Tigers 45 to 22.

As the third quarter began the Crusaders lost momentum, opening the door for their opponent. The Tigers were able to find the basket more than any other quarter. Despite the Tigers' run, Christendom remained in the lead heading into the fourth quarter. As the final quarter began, the Crusaders responded to the Tigers' push and took back control of the game thanks to several important steals from Catherine Thomas (Sophomore/Corpus Christi, TX). The Crusaders finished the remaining minutes strong to secure the game 73-46. The win gives the Crusaders a four-game win streak and advances their record to 9-2 on the season.

This game brought impressive stats all around the Crusaders' roster. Keller led the team with a notable 22 rebounds, as well as putting up 22 points in the game. Thomas played an incredible game finishing with 35 points, 19 rebounds and 3 blocks. Leading the team with 6 assists, Regina Bonvissuto (Sophomore/Kingston Springs, TN) played a major role in the Crusader victory.
