Baseball wins 2 games to 1 against WCCC

Youngwood, PA- Baseball wins two games to one against Westmoreland County Community College on the road this past weekend.

Baseball had a rough start to their first game with a 16-5 loss, but rallied back and won their second game of the day 6-4. Sunday, Fayette was ready to dominate, winning the 9 inning game 16-6.

Head Baseball Coach Ryan Encapera commented on the weekend, "To win two of three is a great way to open the season. All weekend we had some great at bats and our baserunning carried us. Our pitchers were competitive and kept us in the games and gave our bats a chance to score. It was good to get the first games out of the way for our young guys and get them adjusted to college baseball and all the focus and emotions that go into a weekend series. We have plenty to work on but I'm satisfied with our effort. Had a fantastic weekend from Andrew Despot going 6-9 with 3 doubles and scoring 5 runs. Cade Warrick and Braeden McKnight had 3 hits and 4 RBI's as well as Ethan Rendulic with 3 hits and 3 RBI's on the series."

Fayette baseball will continue on the road, playing Bethany College and Allegany College of Maryland this weekend, before heading to spring training.
