The KSU Tuscarawas volleyball team met up with visiting Lakeland Community College on Wednesday, in a matchup of teams that battled to a deciding fifth set in Kirtland, OH, earlier in the season.

This time however, the Eagles did not need a 15-4 tiebreaker to win, as they moved their season record to 7-2 with a three-set and season sweep of the Lakers.  The Golden Eagles won going away 25-18, 25-15, 25-18.

It was the service line that bolstered KSU Tusc again on this night. In the second set Kylie Culbertson served up seven winners in a row and Lizzy Keller served six winners of her own in the 10-point win. Culbertson and Keller accounted for 13 points, or 52% of the Eagles winning total in the set at the service line where they knocked down a total of 19 aces.

The Lakers took their first lead of the evening, 6-5, in the final set after the Eagles jumped to a 5-2 lead. The two teams volleyed back and forth and with the score 19-17 in the Eagles favor, Alicia Cannon took control of things with four straight service points---three of them coming on consecutive aces for a 23-17 lead as the outscored the Lakers 6-1 down the stretch.

On Saturday, the Golden Eagles host a tri match and meet up with Penn State New Kensington at 11:00 a.m. and the USCAA defending national champions Cincinnati Clermont at 3:00 p.m.
