Hazleton Rallies To Best Brandywine

HAZLETON, Pa. – Penn State Brandywine won the first set, but Penn State Hazleton won the next three to claim a 3-1 Penn State University Athletic Conference volleyball victory on Thursday night.

Amanda Floyd (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) and Anna Ramirez (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) paced the Lions' offense with 14 kills each. Lexie Berry (Brookhaven, Pa./Daegu (South Korea)) added four kills, while Laura Jezyk (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth) posted 23 assists and Sydney Stevens (Wilmington, Del./Alexis I. DuPont) collected six aces.

On the defensive end, Suzie Alvarenga (Fullerton, Calif./Notre Dame Academy) registered a team-high 25 digs, while Ramirez collected 21 and Stevens registered 18. Leilu Campbell (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) added 11 digs and Jezyk notched nine.

Brandywine (4-5, 3-2 PSUAC) closes out a three-game road trip Saturday at Penn State Scranton (11:00 AM).
