Crusaders Advance to 3-0 with Win Over Mary Baldwin

Staunton, VA – Christendom Crusaders Women's Basketball was victorious over the Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels 66-46 on Wednesday, November 30.

The Crusaders brought intensity from the start the game. The team's elevated play gave them first quarter advantage, a slim 16-13 lead. The Crusaders caught fire in the second quarter scoring 19 points. The team's offensive charge was led by Catherine Thomas (Sophomore/Corpus Christi, TX) and Miranda Keller (Sophomore/Harrisburg, PA). With their impressive second quarter The Crusaders took a dominate 35-19 lead into the half.

The third quarter started out slow for the Crusaders, but a big basket from Bridget McCaughey (Sophomore/ Nashville, TN), gave the team the spark they needed. As the third quarter came to an end, the Crusaders had a 24-point lead. Although Mary Baldwin outscored the Crusaders in the final quarter, the Crusaders' strong play through the first three quarters was enough to give them the 66-46 win. With the win the Crusaders advance to 3-0 on the season.

Thomas had an impressive game, leading the team with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Keller played a very strong game as well, ending with 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Regina Bonvissuto (Sophomore/Kingston Springs, TN) led the team in assists with a total of 7.
