AUBURN, ME – UMA women's basketball opened their season against Vermont Tech at CMCC Saturday night.

The Moose struggled through the first quarter with turnovers leading to a 18-1 lead by the Knights with 3 minutes remaining in the first. The Moose found a rhythm in the second quarter battling back to 24-10 and eventually getting within 4 points (35-31) going into the locker room at the half.

The second half the Moose started strong taking the lead in the opening minutes where it remained a back and forth battle through the 3rd and into the 4th quarters. The Moose were down by 1 with 8 seconds remaining when the Knight put in 2 more free throws to clinch the win, 74-71.

The UMA women's basketball team hosts CMCC at home Tuesday night in the Augusta Civic Center at 6PM.
