On Saturday, the Golden Eagles volleyball team concluded a busy weekend with a trip to Cincinnati for tri match that included a second matchup of the season with the USCAA defending national champion.

After the dust settled, the Eagles managed to win just one set in seven they played on the afternoon.

In their opening match against Boyce College, the Eagles battled valiantly but lost by scores of 25-19, 25-23 and 25-21. KSU Tusc took the third set 25-21.  The Eagles played the Bulldogs tough, after the latter avenged an earlier season three-set loss to host Cincinnati Clermont by returning the favor with a three-set win of their own. It was just the third loss of the season by UCC who has 17 wins.

The final match of the afternoon saw the Eagles fall in straight sets to the 2021 USCAA DII Champion Cougars by counts of 25-13, 25-13, 25-15. As was the case in their other meeting this season, the Eagles were outmatched at the net by the much taller and harder hitting UC Clermont players.

With their fourth consecutive loss in a row, the Eagles record fall to 9-7 on the season. They are back in action on Saturday as they host a dual against Ohio University Lancaster at 11:00 a.m.
