Volleyball falls short in four set loss to Hazleton in PSUAC Championship

PSUAC Volleyball Championship: Penn State Hazleton 3, Penn State Mont Alto 1 (25-21, 19-25, 16-25, 23-25)

 

University Park, Pa.- Following a thrilling five set win against Penn State Fayette on Monday, Mont Alto faced off against Hazleton in the PSUAC Championship on Monday evening from Rec Hall. Following a 25-21 win in set one, Mont Alto was unable to regain momentum as they dropped the next three sets to finish runner-up in the PSUAC.

 

Leslie Huckle led the way for the Mont Alto attack with 17 kills on 43 attempts. Katie Sinks (23) and Zoey McCormack (17) led the team in assists. Katie Sinks and Ashlyn Vandenbree each recorded 21 digs on the defensive side for Mont Alto. Hazleton was led offensive by East Player of the Year Sydney Mack who recorded 16 kills on 57 attack attempts. Nora Jones paced the defense with 21 digs.

 

Mont Alto will await their fate for an at-large bid to the USCAA National Tournament with the bid show at 12:30pm today.
