USCAA Announces New Site of Soccer National Championships

Pittsburgh, PA – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) is excited to announce that the 2023 and 2024 Men’s and Women’s (Division I&II) USCAA Small College Soccer National Championships will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  The Championships will be administered jointly by the USCAA National Office and SportsPITTSBURGH with the use of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds facilities at Highmark Stadium and the Allegheny Health Network Montour Junction Sports Complex.

SportsPITTSBURGH and the Pittsburgh Region are no strangers to playing host to National Championships, as SportsPITTSBURGH has played host to more than 10 NCAA Championship events since the start of 2018. “I am thrilled to be hosting our National Championships in Pittsburgh”, says BJ Bertges, USCAA Chief Operating Officer.  “With the student-athlete experience being at the forefront of our decision making, the ability to provide premier facilities, in a destination with such rich sports history in both professional and collegiate sports, we will be able to provide an experience unlike any other.”

”Once again, Pittsburgh is prepped and primed to roll out the red carpet for exceptional student-athletes, their teams, support staff and fans,” said SportsPITTSBURGH Executive Director Jennifer Hawkins. “We thank the USCAA for awarding Pittsburgh the 2023 and 2024 Men’s and Women’s Small College Soccer National Championships, and we look forward to awarding national titles in the City of Champions.”

The USCAA members in attendance for the Men’s and Women’s Soccer National Championships will spend the majority of their time at the AHN Montour Junction Sports Complex, which currently features three turfed, FIFA regulation-size soccer and multi-purpose fields, including one full-size indoor field for year-round use that opened in 2022 and seven additional outdoor fields completed at the start of 2023. The new campus is utilized as a practice site for the Riverhounds and home base for the Riverhounds Development Academy, which annually trains more than 5,000 athletes ranging from 4-18 years old.

The second site for soccer, Highmark Stadium, will host both the Men’s and Women’s National Championship games. The home of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC professional team boasts a seating capacity of 5,000 people with additional standing room space for soccer games. Highmark Stadium is located at Station Square on Pittsburgh’s South Shore, overlooking the city’s downtown skyline from across the Monongahela River.

The four championship events will bring an estimated 600-650 participants to Allegheny County. The USCAA will be utilizing multiple hotels, restaurants, and shops throughout the championship event, increasing its economic impact on the region.

Tournament dates for the USCAA Men’s and Women’s Small College National Championships in Pittsburgh, PA, are November 16th – 20th in 2023 and November 21st – 25th in 2024.

The USCAA is a national governing body that exists to provide opportunities for small colleges to compete against like institutions for National Championships and student-athlete recognition.  The 70-member association was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
