Missing leading scorer Marco Karasavas, captain Dan Maroney, starter Gio Karasavas, starting goalie Declan Robinson and several other players, and then losing third leading scorer Dylan Beaver in the second half, Williamson battled as best they could, but in the end, it was not enough as they fell to Manor College, 2-0 on Tuesday night.
Things did not start well for Williamson, as they allowed a goal 32 second into the game but they then settled down and managed to keep the Blue Jays off the board until 3:41 was left in the half. It was then that they scored their second goal to head into half up 2-0.
A gritty Williamson team played a stellar job on defense the rest of the way. Despite constant pressure from Manor, they held them off the board until just 7:35 left in the game, before letting up a meaningless goal with one second left to close out the scoring.
Freshman goalie Aaron O'Keeffe played a monster game in net for the Mechanics, as he turned away 12 shots, many of which were dramatic saves, to keep the Mechanics in the game. In the end though, the injuries were just too much to overcome.
