The continuing trend of Williamson being down several starters reared it's ugly head again on Sunday, and this time Williamson was not able to overcome things, as they found themselves on the short end of a 5-2 score against Delaware County Community College on Sunday.
A vastly improved DCCC squad grabbed the early lead at the 25:26 mark of the first half before Williamson would come back to briefly tie things up at the 19:01 mark on an incredible goal by Marco Karasavas, as he floated one in on a near impossible angle from the left side to make it 1-1.
The tie score did not last long for Williamson, as DCCC would score three goals in the next eight minutes to go up 4-1at half.
The Mechanics played a much better second half, and actually had several outstanding chances to make things closer, but simply were not able to convert enouhg of those chances to pull out the win. Jonathan Illing did however converrt on one at the 10:57 mark before DCCC would score a goal late to ince things for the Phantoms. Going with their third different goalie in their last three games, Williamson's defense also played a much better second half as well, as they pitched a shutout until the final 2:53 of the secodn stanza.
The loss drops Williamson to 6-5-1 overall on the season. They have a few days to re-group before they next travel to Lehigh Carbon Community College in a 3:30 PM start.
