IN BRIEF: In a game that featured a lengthy rain delay, University of Cincinnati-Clermont was able to hold on and upset Penn State Brandywine to advance in the loser's bracket.

ON THE FIELD: Pitching in her second game of the day, Madison Taber set the tone for the Lady Cougars, pitching seven innings and giving up only two earned runs with six strikeouts. Taber also had an RBI in a crucial sixth inning that broke a 3-3 tie. Ellen Boreing and Brady Potrafke contributed two hits apiece and Rachel Meyer added two RBI's to lead the Lady Cougars offensively. The Lady Lions had a chance to tie the game in the seventh inning after Cheyenne Murphy hit an RBI double with no outs.However, Taber would retire the next three batters in order to preserve the victory. Danielle Spina added the other two RBI's in the game for Penn State Brandywine.

NEXT UP: University of Cincinnati-Clermont will advance to face #8 Berea College Tuesday at 12:00 PM on the Pony Field. Meanwhile, Penn State Brandywine will be in action on Tuesday in the ninth-place game against the loser of #5 Penn State Hazleton versus #9 Penn State Schuylkill.
