IN BRIEF: The College of St. Joe's – Vermont took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning. Both teams were held scoreless through the next four and a half innings until the Lady Saints were able to get their second run on the board in the top of the 6th inning.  Despite having the last at bat, UMPI wasn't able to even the game and fell, 2-0.

HOW THEY SCORED: The Fighting Saints opened the scoring in their first at bat as Jacqueline Rossi singled in the opening at bat.  After stealing second, Rossi scored on a Sierra Jaeger single to right field. 

St. Joe's – Vermont struck again in the top of the sixth when Jenna Crowley singled to center field, scoring Krysta Konderwich who singled through the left side and advanced to second on an error by the left fielder.  The RBI by Crowley would be the final run in the game as the Lady Saints held on to win, 2-0.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE: St. Joe's – Vermont tallied 10 hits in the game while committing zero errors.  They were led by Jacqueline Rossi and Karlee Moore who each had two hits in the game.  Sierra Jaeger and Jenna Crowley were credited with an RBI each as well. 

In the circle for the Lady Saints was Maggie Miller who threw a complete game and faced the minimum number of batters (21), giving up just two hits.

Leading UMPI was Nicole Marucci and Dinah Bilodeau who each had a hit in the game.

NEXT UP: The College of St. Joe's – Vermont will advance in the winners bracket to face the winner of #1 St. Mary of the Woods vs #9 Cleary University tomorrow at 4:00 pm. With the loss, UMPI falls into the loser's bracket and will square off against #8 Penn State Beaver later tonight at 6:00 pm on the Pony Field at Firestone Stadium.
