Sherifatu Sumalia of University of Maine Fort Kent has been named USCAA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. The 2016 USCAA Women’s Soccer Player of the Year recorded 15 points from the Lady Bengals two games last week. Both games last week were against participants from the 2016 USCAA Women’s Soccer National Championship field, SUNY Delhi and Bryant & Stratton College Syracuse. In the first game of the week the forward found the back of the net twice and assisted on another as the Bengals took down the Bobcats 4-0 in a rematch of last year’s semifinals. Later in the week against Delhi, Sumalia scored her second hat-trick of the season and dished out four assists in the victory.
