Johnson & Wales University-Charlotte Takes 2022 USCAA Golf Championships
The Wildcats roared to the 2022 USCAA Golf Championship on Tuesday winning the championship by 24 strokes
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Johnson & Wales University-Charlotte shot a 15-over-par 303 on Tuesday to claim the 2022 United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championship at the Penn State University Blue Course.
Following their 301 round on Monday, the Wildcats placed three in the top four overall and carded their 303 on Tuesday. Ryan Regner was the leader for JWU with a 74 on Tuesday to take second place individually at 145. Luke Cochran put up his second round of 74 to take third at 148, while Logan Jarrett shot a 75 to finish fourth at 152. All three of those earn first team All-American honors.
Mississippi University for Women remained in second place after carding a 311 on Tuesday to finish at 52-over-par 628. The Owls had two first-team All-Americans in Logan Pannell who shot 75 on Tuesday to finish at 154 and teammate Zach Riley who shot 76 to also finish with 154 and tied for sixth.
The Apprentice School shot 320 as a team on Tuesday to take third place at 644. The Builders were headed by Ethan Flanders who shot a 78 on Tuesday to end in a tie for sixth at 154 and first team All-American honors.
The medalist of the event was from Penn State York as Logan Snyder shot even-par 72 on Tuesday to finish at one-under 143.
The women’s medalist was Michaela Hawkins of Johnson & Wales-Charlotte who shot 78 on Tuesday for a 158 total and tied for 13th place. She earned second team All-American honors with her finish.
