Melissa Martel of NHTI is the USCAA Women’s Division II Basketball Player of the Week. Martel and the NHTI Lynx started the second half of the season with a 1-1 record during their NHTI Holiday Inn New Year Classic. In the victory over Springfield Tech CC on Sunday, Martel finished with a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. She scored her 1,000th career point for NHTI in the victory. Her team is now 7-5 on the season and 4-3 in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC).
