Maine-Fort Kent Wins 2022 USCAA Men's Track and Field Invitational Title
ALBANY, N.Y. – The University of Maine-Fort Kent rode its strength in the sprint events to outdistance SUNY-ESF and Albany College of Pharmacy to win the 2022 United States Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Track and Field Invitational title on Saturday at the University of Albany.
The Bengals scored 137 points to hold off SUNY ESF (126) and host Albany College of Pharmacy (110) in the 11-team meet.
UMFK took a second and a third in the 100 meters with Raheem Thompson taking second (11.05) and Brian Wright taking third (11.48). Raheem Thompson followed with a win in the 200 meters (22.74), with Ajay Thompson finishing third (23.15). Rodane Hibbert was third in the 400 meters (53.60). Ajay Thompson took the 110 hurdles title (17.68), while Hibbert won the 400 hurdles in 1:05.10.
SUNY ESF took the top four in the 800 with Matt Frame winning in 2:04.22. They took the top five in the 1500 with Frame winning in 4:35.72. Frame was second in the 5000 in 17:32.8 as SUNY ESF went 1-2 won by Sean Dristle in 17:18.9. Dristle did the double winning the 10,000 in 39.33.49
